This masque is proof that we care and want you to be happy. We loved it from the moment we engineered it and we hope you do too.

Sometimes your skin has a mind of its own and needs to be put back in its place. Nothing does better than a. a good diet and b. a good skincare regime. Let's work on b.

Unfortunately, a lot of products out there that claim to be natural and good for your skin but also include a lot of nasty’s, which might not only fail to live up to the claims on the bottle, but also might do detriment to your skin. This includes all fragrances, essential oils (both irritants that cause inflammation, collagen breakdown and prevent healing) and alcohol (drying and irritating – bad for oily skin, can cause free-radicle damage to the skin - gross).

Dem things are great for making you smell like an orange, but not so much for making your skin look less like one. But don’t worry you can avoid all that in this here masque.

This masque might be simple, but the results are mega - so basically this masque is your new best friend.

There is a reason activated charcoal is used in so many skin care products - it's because toxins in the skin are attracted to Activated Coconut Charcoal (ACC) like white on rice, giving everything a good old clear out. Getting technical, charcoal is a natural chelating agent, which means it can bond with other molecules to help trap and remove them. Primarily a carbon substance, ACC is formed by charring organic material in absence of oxygen. One teaspoonful of ACC has a surface area of more than 10,000 square feet, giving it unique absorption properties, which is why it is used to disinfect wounds medically.

In summary, the charcoal and clay in this masque works by binding to any impurities in the skin, which allows for a super deep cleanse. This is useful for those with blemish prone skin, as it will help draw out and clear those nasty black heads / white pimples / zits / impurities / etc.

Aight, so here's how..

1 teaspoon Detoxifying Clarity Face Masque
Water as needed
Small non-reactive glass container (charcoal will absorb toxins from metal) – could be a bowl, drinking glass or cup
Either clean fingers or a brush to apply

This masque can be used as much as you like - some do it 2-3 times a week but it is also effective weekly, fortnightly or once a month.

    1. Cleanse and dry your face, removing all traces of makeup and leave it slightly damp.
    2. Place masque mix in the container and slowly add in water, stirring until you get a thick paste – if it is too watery it will run off, so start with a little and build up.
    3. Apply to face and rub gently into the skin avoiding contact with your eyes. If you accidentally eat some, don't worry - it's all good!
    4. Leave on for 15-20 minutes or until the masque dries. Like most things, this masque is best enjoyed with your favourite pal, so grab your bud and lol around while you wait for the magic to happen. Why not Instagram your new look while you’re at it? #commemask
    5. Remove thoroughly with cleanser and a washcloth – this is easiest done in the shower but perfectly achievable in the sink.
    6. Finish with your regular toner and moisturiser.

    1. For a concentrated blemish/zit treatment use ½ teaspoon with a couple of drops of water to make an ultra thick paste.
    2. Slather over the affected area and leave on for 30 minutes.
    3. This will draw out the impurities to the surface of the skin and help heal the blemish process.
    4. Remove thoroughly with cleanser and washcloth – this is easiest done in the shower but perfectly achievable in the sink.
    5. Finish with your regular toner and moisturiser.

    Boring but helpful warning:
Err on the side of caution, this can get messy – but don’t worry - Activated Coconut Charcoal comes off most surfaces if you rinse it off right away.

Some might experience a breakout as impurities are brought to the surface – better out than in, what was that doing in there anyways?!
